I worked and raised my family. Since retirement, I have become involved in several volunteer activities. I received recognition as Avon Senior Citizen of the year in 2012. This was because of my volunteer work. My newest and most rewarding volunteer work is the Foster Grandparent Program. I was placed in the Lima Primary School working with Kindergarten and First graders. It is very rewarding and fun to see the little minds at work. I travel when I can to see my children, one granddaughter, 8 step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren. My youngest great granddaughter was a premie and weighed 1 lb 12 oz. when she was born in March, 2014. As of August 24th, she now weighs 10.25 lbs. My hobbies include crocheting caps for newborn babies for local hospitals. I also crochet baby items for friends and family. I am the president of the XYZ Club of Avon, which is a senior group of Avon. I started attending the meetings to fill the void of losing my late husband in March, 2009.

I remember dedicated teachers that provided me with the knowledge to become a caring, sharing and productive person where ever I went. I also have very fond memories of the Friday Night dances in the gym. It was a time to meet and make new friends outside of the classroom walls.
